If a person nearby you is having an asthma attack he may
show the following symptoms:
- He experiences difficulty in breathing.
- He starts wheezing.
- He starts coughing.
- His nails and lips become blue due to shortness of oxygen.
You have to do the
following things:
- Sit them down. Sitting position is better for asthma patients than lying down.
- Open any doors or windows to let the air come in.
- Ask them to take breaths slowly and calmly.
- Shake their inhaler.
- Instead of putting the inhaler in to their mouth hand them the inhaler because they know how to use it.
- If they are in a bad condition then put the inhaler in to their mouth and give 4 puffs with 4 deep breaths.
- Wait for 4-5 minutes. If they don’t get better call an emergency.
